With her broad range of financial, economic, and policy skills and her attention to detail, Nicky always provides clients with a safe pair of hands to guide initiatives from conception to delivery.

Nicky has extensive experience in developing business cases, designing funding models, advising on policy, and doing economic and financial analysis in both the public and private sectors.

In her business case work, Nicky focusses on testing assumptions, making sure the case for investment stacks up, and always maintaining strong links between strategic objectives and delivery.

Nicky develops strong working relationships with client teams and supports them to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

Examples of Nicky's work

  • Developing the full range of business cases, from programme business cases for regulatory reform and to establish new entities (most recently for the Ministry of Health), to implementation business cases for IT initiatives (for Te Uru Rākau for its forestry emissions platform, and for the Ministry of Justice)
  • Supporting clients to prepare Budget bids – for example, the Ministry for Primary Industries (including supporting MPI teams to develop implementation plans post-Budget), the Ministry of Health, and the cross-agency Family Violence and Sexual Violence Joint Venture
  • Developing a full range of tailored business case templates and associated guidance for Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora to support its decision making on infrastructure investments.
