Leadership

Nick is a leading strategic adviser, public-policy expert, and economist whom New Zealand governments often call on for advice and leadership on difficult economic, regulatory, and machinery-of-government issues.

For more than 20 years, Nick has advised central and local government and industry clients on a wide range of strategy and policy issues, including leading major policy reforms and machinery-of-government changes.

Nick has specialist skills in public-policy analysis, public-sector financial management, and economic and financial analysis.

He has the rare ability to combine complex systems thinking with down-to-earth, pragmatic analysis and advice. His strength is breaking down problems to their essence and packaging advice to decision makers in ways that enable them to confidently make decisions.

Before joining MartinJenkins in 2004, Nick held senior policy roles at the NZ Treasury and Ministry of Economic Development, and worked as an analyst at Merrill Lynch International in London.
