Consulting

A leader and specialist in Māori development, Edwina helps her clients design practical strategies that lead to real, measurable impact for Māori. She supports clients to engage meaningfully with Māori and iwi, in ways grounded in te ao Māori and tikanga.

Edwina (Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Pūkeko) brings together her expertise in strategy, policy, and stakeholder engagement to support organisations that want to create benefits for Māori communities. She simplifies complex issues to create strategies that can be easily understood and set in action.

With a strong understanding of the needs of both government and iwi, Edwina designs practical ways for agencies and councils to work collaboratively with Māori.

The credibility she brings to reviews and other processes give Edwina’s clients confidence that this work will have real value for Māori. She is skilled in translating high-level aspirations into practical strategies that produce tangible, measurable results.

Examples of Edwina's work

  • As part of the review of the Oranga Tamariki Oversight System, she led extensive engagement across government agencies, care providers, iwi and Māori, and children and young people
  • She designed a five-year Rautaki Māori (Māori strategy) and action plan for the Law Society, working closely with its stakeholders and partners to reflect the Society’s commitment to honouring te Tiriti and meeting its responsibilities as a regulator and representative body
  • Edwina designed and delivered training on Treaty rights and interests for government agencies – she focussed on creating practical awareness and understanding that the clients could then apply to their organisation’s work.
