Edna loves working in the background in the people and culture field to support our firm’s contribution to making Aotearoa a better place. She’s an experienced generalist who’s worked right across the field – from health and safety, to change management and organisational development.
Edna often says that a great workplace experience comes down to countless small positive, rewarding moments in daily working life. Those moments in turn depend on a positive workplace culture that soaks through right across the firm, and at all levels.
Edna works to foster that culture not just through our formal workplace policies – for example on flexible working – but also through plenty of indirect, low-key nudges, drawing on her relationships across the firm.
She’s good at working indirectly through our managers, supporting them to support the people who report to them. This includes helping managers apply our workplace policies in practice, and here Edna brings a healthy understanding that workplaces – like life in general – sometimes throw up situations that aren’t clearly black and white.
In all her work, Edna focusses on making sure things are always done the MartinJenkins way, with a respect for the value and dignity of each of our wonderful kaimahi.
