Ben applies legal, policy, and economics disciplines to find solutions for clients working on the tricky problems facing Aotearoa New Zealand – from managing tourism pressures and solving environmental issues, to addressing worker exploitation in supply chains.

Ben applies his mix of policy, legal, and economic disciplines to give clients practical advice on achieving their objectives, whether this be through developing government policy or navigating regulatory systems. He excels at both deep strategic thinking and fine-grained analytical work.

Ben has worked on policy issues across a range of sectors and regulatory systems – this includes tourism, hazardous substances, conservation, freshwater, sports and recreation, modern slavery and the regulation of professions. He has a particularly strong understanding of natural-resources regulation, having formerly been a resource-management lawyer.
