Ben is an experienced consultant who brings his sharp sense of policy and his clear thinking about strategic pathways to help clients solve their tricky challenges across a wide range of areas – from economic development, to labour markets, to environmental projects.

Ben works with his clients to understand the context and constraints that they are working within, and to identify a path through to their goals.

He enjoys building on technical analysis and evidence to shape a compelling case that's clear about priorities and opportunities.

Ben sees his assignments as shared projects with the client, and he believes in making full use of the client's expertise and insight along the way.

  • Exploring the policy and legislative impacts of a masterplan to rethink the tourism experience in Milford Sound Piopiotahi, including the design of governance and management arrangements
  • Developing options for a regulatory operating model to support the implementation of a new regulatory proposal
  • Developing a range of labour-market strategies and plans, including a vocational education strategy and roadmap for Auckland and research into the impact of COVID-19 on Auckland’s youth workforce.
