Two new directors appointed
Consulting firm MartinJenkins appointed two new directors, a reflection of the firm’s solid growth and prominence in the New Zealand market. Allana Coulon and Richard Tait will strengthen the existing Board of Kevin Jenkins (Managing Director and firm co-founder), Michael Mills, Nick Davis, and independent director Hilary Poole.
A specialist in organisational performance and design, Allana works with public sector leaders to design and equip their organisations to achieve strategic objectives, respond to change and lift organisational performance. Allana has built enduring relationships with senior leaders who trust her because she understands their context, challenges their thinking, delivers real-world solutions, and keeps people and relationships front of mind.
Before joining MartinJenkins in 2006, Allana worked in the public sector as a senior policy analyst and international advisor. She has also worked as a lecturer and researcher in employment relations and as an employment advocate.
Richard’s specialist areas are strategy and organisational performance, review and design. He works with a wide variety of clients to help them define their goals and priorities, understand what is driving their performance, and identify practical opportunities and solutions for lifting performance. Richard is known for his ability to quickly understand each client’s specific context, to identify the issues, and to communicate problems and solutions in an accessible way.
Before joining MartinJenkins in 2007, Richard worked in the private sector as a lawyer and then as a policy advisor and internal strategy consultant for a large government department. As well as advising MartinJenkins’ clients on organisational review and design, Richard’s expertise includes strategic planning and systems thinking.
Managing Director and firm co-founder Kevin Jenkins says “25 years ago three of us made the bold decision to step out of the public service and establish what has grown into a renowned consultancy business. MartinJenkins policy has always been to recruit the best senior consultants in the market – a strategy that paid off. The appointment of the new directors reflects the steady growth and the demand for our services. We are delighted to have Allana and Richard join our Board and to have the opportunity to build the firm’s future together with them.”
The appointment of the new directors comes in the same year as the firms’ 25th anniversary. MartinJenkins’ roots lie in the shifting sands of state sector reform in the early 90’s, when three top managers at the State Services Commission stepped out on their own. Since then the firm has grown to over 50 staff members with a presence in Wellington and Auckland.
MartinJenkins specialises in providing high calibre organisational, financial, economic and public policy services to clients in New Zealand and beyond.
